Well after a rough start to our halloween day, it is finally over. I had to do Tyler's kindergarten party for school since I am the room mother. I had a craft planned out and it seems the craft disappeared last night. Luckily my neighbor saved my rear end and we did the sucker ghost craft. We went to the school's parade they do and then came home and got ready to trunk-or-treat up at camp maple dell. Don found a man dressed as Darth Vader to battle with...hence the picture of the battle. Tyler was also Darth Vader and is battling the man's son. All in all we ended up having a fun day and the kids got more than enough candy. Kenny told Tyler he could come beat up his ugly guy in his yard with his bat. Nothing would give me more joy even though he didn't do it.

HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY DON!!

I wanted to do a slideshow but I couldn't get it to work and I was sick of fighting with it. This is birthday's 1-6 since our hard drive on our computer crashed and had 7 and 8 on it. Don decided to get up at 6:00 a.m. and started asking to open his presents. (you would've thought it was Christmas day) That is also after the kids went to bed at 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. I said no way until 7:30. I think he liked what he got. He is a good boy. I never thought I would feel old until I realized I just turned 31 and now a week later I have a 9 year old. Tonight we will finish the celebrating with going to dinner at Sizzler (every year tradition) and cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday Don! We love you!

Game Night
Meanwhile, Cory and Don were enjoying themselves at the Portland vs. Jazz game. The highlight of Don's night was when he got to meet Thurl Bailey who used to play for the Jazz. He has a picture with him but you can't see it very well and he signed his Jazz hat for him.

Primary program Sunday
Today was the Primary program in our ward. It is amazing what can turn a mom into a blubbering idiot. I sit at the piano in primary every Sunday and sometimes wonder if I am getting anything out of church. As the kids practice for the program you sit and wonder if they and you can pull it off. They end up doing a wonderful job. By the end our kids ended up singing I Am A Child of God for the closing song with the congregation so I didn't have to play the piano. I don't know if I don't usually pay as much attention because I am concentrating on playing the piano or if the kids really just don't try to sing that great. But today it was like being surrounded by angels! I have never heard our primary kids sing that loud and beautiful every word of a song before. I turned into a big blubbering baby and couldn't quit crying because it was so beautiful. I guess that is what Primary program Sunday is all about so the kids can shine and show their best singing voices and what angels they can really be.

The reason I don't like Halloween!
It wasn't bad enough that 2 weeks ago my neighbor scared the living daylight out of Tyler with his ugly mask. He decided to put it on a dummy and put it in his yard. Tyler wouldn't go outside to get in the car without the garage being closed or get out of the car if it wasn't closed. He finally realized the guy was fake and said "Mom the fear is all gone." So what does the neighbor do? He finds and even scarier mask and makes another dummy and puts it right by the fence between our houses. What makes it worse is that I told him my kid was scared to death to go outside. I guess that is what you get when you have Joe Dirt for a neighbor?!
