Our Day at the Lake

On Monday, my husband had the day off so both of us got the bright idea to go to the lake since we haven't taken our boat out of the driveway the whole summer.

We got to the lake and our battery was dead. Luckily the lake was close to a town and we were able to go buy a new one.

We finally got ready to put the boat in the water and it decided not to go into reverse. We just pushed it off of the trailer and I could turn around going forward.

We picked my husband up off of the dock and we started on our way. It was running smooth for being the first time out. We were going up on plane if you know what that means. Just at the faster speed and next thing I know the engine started to just rev up and the boat quit going fast.

We ended up just swimming by the boat. No water skiing or tubing. The tube got too hot and got a hole in it too. We couldn't have done that even if the boat was running.

I went to drop my husband off at the dock to go get the car. Nothing annoys me more than people lounging on the boat docks when people are trying to get there boats in. Because of the reverse issue, I was just going to do a drive by slowly and he was going to jump off. I got too close to the dock and ran up on it a bit(no reverse). The people sitting there were a little freaked out.

I told my husband I chipped a piece off of the dock. He started laughing and told me it was off of the boat. I hit so hard I chipped off the words of what our boat is and part of the top rail.

I am not good at the trailer either and right when I got to the trailer, the boat died on me. The reverse comes in handy when trailering. We had to just pull the boat in with the tie on strap. There wasn't a second chance that day.

We let the kids play on the beach for awhile. No mishaps with my kids happened. Some other lady let her kids in the water without life jackets and one about my 4 year olds age got out too far and started panicking. I was glad I was standing there. I had to grab her and pull her back out.

It made for quite an eventful day at the lake for us.

I want to win this

I don't do twitter but one of the people I read just started a new website. If I shout her out I get a chance to win a Wii. MY kids would love one. So you can go here to check it out.

Our fun day at the Zoo, And more baseball

Waiting to get into the Zoo.

Yesterday we took our kids to the Hogle Zoo. I think it was one of the first days it actually felt like summer. We got up there early and started our day. It has been a few years since we have been there. We missed the baby elephant, it is supposed to be born any day. The other elephant is turning 40 on Friday and they are having a birthday party for it that day.

We had my older son's final baseball game last night after we got home. It was their game to determine whether they got to go to the tournament or not. It was a pretty intense game. They had it tied for quite awhile. The other team scored and was one point ahead before the last inning so it was pretty tight. One boy on our team ended up hitting and making it home and tieng the game again. They ended up playing a 2 hour game with about 4 extra innings with no scoring until the other team finally scored and got the winning run. The Phillies lost their chance to go to the tournament by one point. They played their hearts out last night though. They were pretty dissapointed but they knew they tried hard. They had a good season.

Priceless Moments

It is always the priceless moments in life when we never have our camera with us but we capture in our minds. Both of my boys baseball teams ended up being the Phillies this year. My 6 year olds t-ball and my 9 year olds mustang league.

Last night they both had games and we have called them all season our big Phillie and little Phillie. Their is significant size difference between the two.
My older son's team didn't have enough players and every time it was that batter's turn to get up their team would have to take 2 outs.

My son's coach has seen my little guy play a little, since he comes to all of the practices. He asked if my 6 year old wanted to play on their team for the night. He is to the waist of most of my son's team. He got up their and batted, even though he struck out. Not any worse than any other kid on the team.

He got put in out field. The cutest thing ever was my older son was out their giving him pointers on what he needed to do. You could tell he didn't belong he was sitting down and messing around a little.

He ended up having a ball come to him and he actually went after the ball and got it in to the infield. It was pretty cute seeing my two boys with such a huge age difference playing on the same team.

My little guy was in heaven playing with the big boys and I think my older son was pretty proud that his little brother played and helped out his team.

T-ball is a little slow for him, he gets a little too into baseball already. He is going to be my sports player.

T-ball In the Rain

Ty playing 2nd base

Last night it was raining once again. Both of our son's baseball games were at 7:00 p.m. We were hoping by then that maybe the rain would stop. It was looking good by the time we got there.

Getting ready to hit

Just left the tee

The games got started and it was okay. After about 15 minutes it decided to start up again. They called my older son's game and so they didn't get to play.

The coaches let my younger son's team decide if they wanted to play or not. They played for a half hour in the rain. By the time we got home we were soaked to the bone.
The pictures were taken before the rain started. At least we didn't have lightning.

Hiking Fun

Today we finally got some sunshine and no rain for the first time in about 2 weeks. My husband had to work an afternoon shift so we decided to go hike the grotto trail that we promised our kids we would do last week. But we couldn't since we got rained out. Today it was perfect hiking weather.

In case you are wondering what the grotto trail is, it is this fun little trail up our canyon that is a very easy hike and at the end has this fun waterfall. It is pretty cool. I really want to take my scouts up there.

Catching Up

I have not been very good about keeping up my blog this summer already. We have had a busy last month between baseball, swimming lessons and my new scout calling. This post will be a little random.

Here are some pinewood derby pictures from June 10, 2009. We didn't have enough weight and they made all of the cars weigh the same. They had lead tape we had to add. Not thinking and my husband was at my other son's t-ball game, I added all of the tape to the bottom of my son's car. Unfortunately, I think it made it drag on the track. He took third in every heat. I ruined his night. He always says it is okay. He didn't care he just had fun anyway.
The whole pack with their cars
Don with his car and certificate
(Check out my son's cheek. We had an eventful night at baseball as well. He was moving away
from an astray pitch and didn't get out of the way quick enough. It is pretty swollen and red. It is now turning black and blue and he is getting a black eye. ) He now won't hardly stand in the batter's box, thankfully he has a very patient coach.
I am proud to say that he did pass swimming lessons and has done well in those. The one thing I have seen him really excel in. I hope he will enjoy his next swim lessons as much and that the next ones it won't be raining every day!

I Made It!

Be ready for a ton of pictures. My husband took a million, I think. I actually made it through the whole 37 miles, even though my odometer on my bike read 40 by the time I got back to the starting point. We made it in exactly 3 hours. I am glad to report at the end when they were having the worst road rash contest that I did not qualify.
I made it through the whole ride with no asthma attacks, no wrecks and no flat tires this time. Even though I saw one bad accident that they did have to call the ambulance for.

Starting out at the beginning

This ride was easy compared to what and where my sister and I had been training for. It was beautiful weather and a beautiful area to ride.

While we were riding, this is what they
were doing.

Halfway point, the kids and hubby's were
waiting for us.

I think our kids enjoyed more of our snacks
than we did.
I love this picture of my sister with her little
boy.

Best part of the day, the massage

It was rewarding to know I was able to finish. It was fun to do with my sister. Thanks Marcy for going with me. Thanks Cory for being so supportive.

Night Before My Ride

I decided to do this in 2 posts or there would be a million pictures and a lot to say.

We went to Logan on Friday. You would think my kids have never gone anywhere before. We took them to the LDS Logan Temple,

to the Gossners Cheese factory, and then we had to hit the mall since my son's shoes decided to give out on him. We ate at Cafe Rio and then went back to our hotel so our kids could swim. We had to stay in Tremonton, since even 4 weeks ago I couldn't get a room in Logan.

Litlle Red Bike Ride

As I was reading this today, I realize my 35 mile bike ride tomorrow is really nothing compared to it. I have been so nervous though.

This is my first ride I have ever done with anyone besides my sister. This is my first ride I have ever done in general too.
But this is the reason I am doing this ride.
She passed away 7 years ago from cancer. You can go here to read more about the story behind this . I am also riding in honor of my friend who is going through a battle of breast cancer right now. This will keep me motivated if I get nervous and want to give up. I think this ride has a great purpose behind it.
