My Funny 5 year old!

I have to take all 3 kids to the dentist this afternoon. I saw the dentist's card sitting on the couch last night. I didn't even know I had the dentist's card. I asked him where it came from. He told me he was going to call the dentist and cancel their appointments. Think of him talking in a deep voice. He said,"Hello, this is Cory, I need to cancel my kid's dentist appointment tomorrow." Then he started to laugh.
I don't know what goes through this child's head. He is quite the kid. He makes laugh.

Kids and Prayers

Tonight as Don was saying his prayers he sayed,"Please bless Miss Kitty to accept Suzy so she can go to Shirley's house."

We have puppies that we are starting to reserve for sale in a couple of weeks. Our neighbor wants to take one of the puppies but she has a cat she wants to make sure will accept the puppy. She has been taking the puppy home to see if the cat will be nice to it. Tonight she took it home to see and I guess Don went with her. The cat hissed and got mad at the puppy. It made Don very upset. I think he realized he might not get to have his puppy close to him after all. Hence the cute prayer tonight.

Kids and Shoes

How does it happen that all 3 kids need new shoes all at the same time? Not only that but my 5 year old has problems with his feet hurting so we can only buy skechers brand shoes for him. That got rid of the all night rubbing his feet and Tylenol problem. My oldest needed new church shoes. He was easy.

I have discovered my 4 year old daughter is already into shopping. We looked like the above picture at the store. It took us over a half hour to pick out a pair of shoes for her. Last week as we were driving by the shoe store she told her dad, "Could we just stop and see what they have that is new at the shoe store?" She is starting early. Not a good thing when you have a mom that does not like to shop. This will be her when she is older.

What I Learned This Week

I was a week late for a doctor's appointment. Don't ask me how. I thought they told me the 17th and that is what I wrote on my calendar. When I got there this morning they told me it was last Tuesday. I guess that is what you get when you make appointments after being on medicine for an MRI and a whole night without sleep.

It is going to be hard to let my puppies go. We listed them for sale this week. I only get 2 more weeks with them. They are so fun to watch and have around.

I need to spend more quality time with my kids. You never know what could happen or how much time we could have on this earth with them.

I am going to turn off the t.v. more and make my kids help me more. My house stays a lot cleaner.

If you want to play along you can go here to Musings of a Housewife. She does this Carnival every Tuesday.

Understand The Divine Roles of Women

As I got ready to go visiting teaching this week I said I would do the message for the month. As I sat and read through it, it was so good. I had a hard time picking out one part of it to read. The whole thing was so inspiring. Maybe I was the one that needed to hear it, I don't know.
I couldn't get the link to work so if you want to find it you can go to LDS.org and find it.

“Understand the Divine Roles of Women,” Ensign, Feb 2009, 67

Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president: “I have a testimony gained from pondering and studying the scriptures of a plan of happiness given to us by our Father in Heaven. That plan has a part for His daughters. We have the female half to take care of, and if we don’t do our part, no one else is going to do it for us. The half of our Father’s plan that creates life, that nurtures souls, that promotes growth, that influences everything else was given to us. We can’t delegate it. We can’t pass it off to anyone. It’s ours. We can refuse it, we can deny it, but it’s still our part, and we’re accountable for it. There will come a day when we will all remember what we knew before we were born. We will remember that we fought in a great conflict for this privilege. How do we meet this responsibility? We daily put our energies into the work that is uniquely ours to do.”

Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “The basic doctrinal purpose for the Creation of the earth is to provide for God’s spirit children the continuation of the process of exaltation and eternal life. …

“… Although there is simply not a more significant contribution you can make to society, to the Church, or to the eternal destiny of our Father’s children than what you will do as a mother or father, motherhood and fatherhood are not the only measures of goodness or of one’s acceptance before the Lord. …

“Every sister in this Church who has made covenants with the Lord has a divine mandate to help save souls, to lead the women of the world, to strengthen the homes of Zion, and to build the kingdom of God” (“Women of Righteousness,” Liahona, Dec. 2002, 36, 39; Ensign, Apr. 2002, 68, 70).

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “By divine design, men and women are intended to progress together toward perfection and a fulness of glory. Because of their distinctive temperaments and capacities, males and females each bring to a marriage relationship unique perspectives and experiences. The man and the woman contribute differently but equally to a oneness and a unity that can be achieved in no other way” (“Marriage Is Essential to His Eternal Plan,” Liahona, June 2006, 51–52; Ensign, June 2006, 83–84).

Silvia H. Allred, first counselor in the Relief Society general presidency: “The Lord has blessed women with divine attributes of love, compassion, kindness, and charity. Through our monthly visits as visiting teachers, we have the power to bless each sister as we extend our arms of love and kindness and give the gifts of compassion and charity. No matter what our individual circumstances are, we all have the opportunity to edify and nurture others” (“Feed My Sheep,” Liahona and Ensign, Nov. 2007, 113).

President Spencer W. Kimball (1895–1985): “To be a righteous woman during the winding up scenes on this earth, before the second coming of our Savior, is an especially noble calling. The righteous woman’s strength and influence today can be tenfold what it might be in more tranquil times” (“Privileges and Responsibilities of Sisters,” Ensign, Nov. 1978, 103).

Little Red Goes Pink Ride

I saw this on 3 Ma'am's and their guy's blog I got so excited. I had to call up my sister's and see if they would do this with me. This isn't something I normally would do. I have been trying to find a way not to gain weight now that I found out my thyroid is not working properly. I do not want to get heavy. MY WORST NIGHTMARE. I decided this would be a great way to stay in shape and help keep the weight off. Also it is for a good cause.
One of my good friends from high school has a wife with breast cancer. This helps raise money for that cause. I am able to do 2 things at once. It has a 2 fold purpose for me. I can't wait to start training. We are going to do the 38 mile ride.

More Randomness

Last night my husband and I were able to go to the Temple together. It was nice to go. It seems like it has been awhile since we have been. I love to be able to go to the Temple and be able to feel of the peace and love while being there. It is so nice to go. I can't imagine what it would be like not to have the Gospel on this earth and in my life. I am so glad for the peace it brings to me when I am feeling not quite so sure about things and scared. I am thankful we have the Holy Ghost to comfort us in those times.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I got some of my test results back. My MRI came back normal. In my bloodwork my thyroid is having problems and my test I had to stay up all night for haven't got the results back for yet.

I am thankful for family and friends who are willing to help me out in these crazy times. I feel bad for my poor kids. They are trying to figure out what is wrong with their mom. I can't imagine being a little kid and feeling like that.

Randomness

Have you ever wondered what people who stay up all hours of the night do? I got a phone call from my doctor's office yesterday telling me that one of the tests I have to get done you can't sleep for. I have had to stay up all night. I feel bad for people with insomnia.
I have watched 2 movies and read many blogs.
I have read a lot of new blogs just for something to do.
I have done laundry.
I have drank caffeine and ate snacks.
It is very boring to be the only one in the house up.

On another note I was able to go to the Mindy Gledhill Concert Monday night. It was a very good concert. She had a couple of other people with her. She had the Osmond kid on American Idol. The Thrillionaires are very funny. I've decided I would like to go watch them at the Covey Center another time.

Benefit Auction for Nie

I know a lot of blogs I read have the Nie recovery buttons on them. I found in the newspaper today the site for the auction site today. It is here if you want to check it out. Tomorrow they are having a Mindy Gledhill benefit concert at the Covey Center in Provo, UT. I get to go. If you haven't heard her you should go here to take a listen. She has a beautiful voice and is a wonderful LDS singer. I have her Sum of All Grace cd and it is one of my favorites.
