Wonderful Neighbors

While I was feeling like this:

yesterday and today, my wonderful visiting teacher stopped by. I didn't answer her phone calls all week. She is always encouraging and great to talk to. I am thankful Heavenly Father has given me a wonderful visiting teacher that always comes when I am feeling my worst even if I am still in my pajamas at 7:00 p.m.
Today my neighbor and good friend knew I wasn't feeling good. She invited me and my family over for dinner so I didn't have to worry about cooking tonight. I decided I am so blessed to have these people as my neighbors and friends. Even though they don't blog, I hope they know how much they mean to me. If I could give them an award they would deserve this:
That is what they are to me. They always help me out in a pinch or are always there to just talk to.

Lazy Days

I wish I could say this was me.

I woke up this morning with a migraine. Being a migraine sufferer is not a pleasant thing. The nice thing was my husband is on an afternoon shift today. As I was ready to get up and get the kids ready for school and let the dog out to use the bathroom, He said,"I will get up, you stay in bed today."

Those were the best words I heard all week.

The best part was when I finally got out of bed at 10:40. I know how lazy is that. He had all my dishes done and the kitchen completely clean. The job I hate the worst in the house. I am glad I have a wonderful husband that puts up with a cranky wife.

We also have caught 2 mice. Only in the garage so far. None in the house. Hopefully that means they are only in the garage. Still gross how many more could there be?

What I Learned This Week

1. I don't know anything about having puppies. I am glad I only have one kid at a time.

2. I learned you can't leave your camera unattended. Kids will be kids.

3. I cannot shovel 10 inches of snow off of my driveway. I am a wimp.

4. Mice ate through the sheetrock in my garage. Gross that means they are probably in my house.

This is harder than I thought. These are a few things that I learned this week. If you want to play along you can go here.

Unattended Children

I have felt like a new mom again with my dog and puppies. I went to download pictures I had taken today and discovered I had many more pictures on my camera than I had taken. I guess that is what happens when you leave your children unattended with a camera sitting there. They were too funny, I couldn't delete them. These are the results of Tyler I'm sure. Looks like they enjoyed themselves.

I don't usually do Thankful Thursday, but today I have a lot to be thankful for. I lifted the picture from Brittany .

I am Thankful for:
The Gospel
For a living Prophet on the earth today
Family
A husband who has a stable job
The amazing gift of life that God has given to us
For my kids (even though sometimes they are stinkers)
My husband who always supports me
A Heavenly Father who is always there when we need him
A husband who is a worthy priesthood holder
Blogging ( I came on board recently and I love it)
Good friends who are always there to talk to
Parents who support us and help us out
School Teachers (I could not teach all day long)
Good Health
Thankful for a good mother-in-law that was always my friend when she was alive
Thankful for my sisters and sister-in-laws who are good friends

Sorry this is very long. As I was reading everyone elses posts, I realized I had a lot to be thankful for too, I just don't say it very often.

My New Arrivals

The proud new mom

Okay I wasn't going to post about these, because I read someone's blog recently that they hated when people posted about their animals. I have to because my animals are part of my family. I am like a new mom all over again, but I didn't have to go through the pain, just the excitement and no sleep last night over it.
Our female dog had her puppies last night. We ended up getting 8 in all. We got 4 boys and 4 girls. All 8 puppies

I've Been Bug Tagged

I've been tagged by Melissa at 3 Ma'am's and Their Guys. I have to come up with 10 things that bug me and tag 10 people. You can't tag everyone.

1. It bugs me to have to wait in line at the grocery store. Thanks to self check out I don't have to wait anymore, most of the time.
2. It bugs me when people change lanes without using a turn signal.
3. It bugs me when my kids whine "mom" all day long. Sometimes I would like to change that name. (Not always though)
4. It bugs me when my neighbors let their dogs sh*& on my lawn. If my dog does it, I clean it up. I have 2 to clean up after that is why they are in my back yard.
5. It bugs me when people talking on their cell phones almost run me off the road cause they are too worried about their conversation instead of driving.
6. It bugs me when you don't answer your home phone people start calling your cell phone and if you don't answer, they just keep calling. Sometimes there is a reason you don't answer.
7. It bugs me when parents sign up to help in the classroom and then when you call to ask them to help they tell you they can't help.
8. It bugs me when my kids answer the phone for telemarketers when I already told them not to cause I saw it on the caller ID. That is why I didn't answer the phone.
9. It bugs me that people can get into their pre-pregnancy clothes at all. I never went back to my pre-pregnancy size. You guys should feel lucky you went back.
10. Last but not least chaos. I can't stand to be in a place with a lot of noise. I have decided I have noise intolerance. Noise bugs me, and so do crowds.

I didn't realize so many things bugged me. Once in awhile it feels good to say it though. Now it is your turn.

Now, I am tagging:
Melinda
Heather
Staci
Amy
Devri
Kamey
Sarah

My New Found "Love"

Besides my family that is. I started doing grocerysmarts to save money. I never thought I would be a coupon shopper, but I have learned you can save a ton of money and buy a lot of things. I did my second coupon shopping trip today. I was so excited I had to post. I got all of this:

For not much of this:

I spent $65.00 and got all of this. Some of it is stacked so it doesn't do justice for all I got. I lost one of my receipts. I saved at one store between sale items and coupons $41.00 and only spent $27.00. That is when you leave happy. All of my purchases today were like that.

"My Word for 2009"

I have been pondering since I have noticed other bloggers doing a word. It has taken me a lot of thinking. I have finally come up with my word after reading this. I don't know this person. I was just perusing their blog yesterday and happened to read this article.
I have decided my word for 2009 is "BE PREPARED."
We have been trying to get out of debt and get our food storage a little bit better.
The Prophets have told us for years to BE PREPARED.
This year I am going to try to be more PREPARED spiritually, physically and financially.
We have started on the get out of debt path, slowly but surely when you have student loans, thanks to taking
this class.
Thanks to learning grocerysmarts.com we are able to get our food storage stocked up cheaper.

Sorry, this is a little preachy. But after thinking and the way the economy and the world is right now, I think we all need to BE PREPARED for whatever may come.

The Coolest Mom Ever

As I was taking my kids to school today, Tyler told me,"Mom you are the coolest mom ever."
Those are the moments when it makes it worth having our kids. They say the funniest things. He was excited because he forgot to give me his SEP paper over the weekend and I needed to sign it. I needed to cut the bottom off and had a leatherman tool in my purse with scissors on them. That tool that saved the day is what made me "the coolest mom ever," because no other moms probably have those. Tyler always has something funny to say.

Don's First Basketball Game

scoring 1st basket
Don likes sports but he doesn't always get into them that much. He has been dying to do basketball and it finally started. He scored the first basket of the game and did pretty well for it being his first game of the season. Maybe he has finally found something he will be able to do and
enjoy.

Happy New Year!

When we were younger, every year we went to my mom's friend's house for New Year's Eve and had Chinese New Year. She used to make egg rolls, ham fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and fried shrimp. We used to go and help make the egg rolls. It was always a fun time.
Now that I have got married. It took a few years, but I started missing the "to die for dinner" we used to have. So a few years ago I started making it a tradition at my house again. My kids love it. We had my sister in law's family over, cause if you are going to spend that much time making the food you might as well have someone else to enjoy it with. I didn't even get pictures of the kids having a good time playing. They asked all day when their cousins were coming. We had a good time and enjoyed a delicious chocolate cake Heather brought for dessert.
We didn't even make it until midnight.
