I Had A Bad Day!

Now that I have the Hannah Montana song stuck in my head, luckily, it was yesterday. Recently, I was reading a blog talking about how bad things come in 3's.

I guess this week was my week.

Yesterday I went on a bike ride since my 35 mile ride is in 3 weeks, I figured I better get on it and do something. I stopped on the Highway between Payson and Salem to get a drink. I unhooked my left foot and next thing I know I am toppling over into the gravel. If only my brain would process that I need to slide that darn right foot out of the pedal and not try to just lift it off. I fell on my trusty hand that finally healed from my last bike wreck and I am sporting some pretty good road rash on my knee, elbow and one hand.
My cute neighbor boy asked me where I wrecked and I told him. He said to me "Well, at least you were close to the hospital if you had to go there." It made me laugh.

My second thing my alternator decided to go out on my expedition for the second time. I was on the freeway and discovered my battery was getting sucked down while I was driving. I called my husband and told him I was heading home. I got a block away from home and turned at the light. The battery finally died as I was turning. I coasted to the side as much as I could out of one of the busiest intersections in our little town. The battery was so dead I couldn't even turn on my hazards. Right as the high school was getting out was when this happened. So I had many very impatient high school kids trying to figure out why I was sitting there doing nothing.

Luckily the alternator was under warranty so we just had to pay for labor and not for the part again.

Third, my 4 year old came down with strept throat yesterday. She was up all night with a fever and sore throat. We took her into the doctor this morning and she is taking the antibiotic. Hopefully by tomorrow she will start feeling better.

Breakfast in Bed and other ramblings

It was so cute this morning. Me and the hubby awoke to the kids talking about what kind of toast mom and dad liked. They all know dad likes peanut butter on toast. I am not a big fan of peanut butter. My five year old got mad at my nine year old and wanted to make my husband's breakfast so he threw the toast he made away and made him a peanut butter sandwich.

I after all did end up with some toast and jam. Our 4 year old brought us a glass of milk to go along with our sandwich and toast. It was a thoughtful gesture.

Along other lines, our ward got split today, meaning we are in a whole new ward. We have a new Bishop. It is a bittersweet thing, it is sad because we are losing a lot of our good friends but it also gives us the opportunity to get to know a lot of new people as well. We are only a few blocks away from the other people too.

For those people wondering why I haven't quit using my bike clip shoes, my husband tried to put my regular pedals on and got one of the pedals on so much that he could never get the clipped pedal off. Therefore, I am stuck using clip shoes. We could never get the pedal back off. I don't have a choice but to learn to ride that way.

Got Back On

I was able to finally get back on my bike today after my little falling off accident.

It was nice to go back outside. I made it without any falls. Too bad for my neighbor that wanted to capture that video so he could win America's Funniest Home Videos. I was getting worried I was losing my training time for my ride. Luckily my husband bought me an indoor trainer.

He bought it so I could use it for the bad weather days. (He didn't realize it was going to be used because his wife was clumsy and had to use it cause she injured herself.)

I made it up the canyon 2 miles today in 15 minutes and the last time I rode it, it took me 30. I was pretty excited that I haven't lost my legs from being inside. Maybe I will be ready for that ride after all.
